Son Goku, also known simply as Goku, is the main protagonist of the *Dragon Ball* franchise. He first appeared in the *Dragon Ball* manga in 1984.

Goku is a Saiyan, an extraterrestrial warrior race known for their immense power and love of fighting. He was sent to Earth as an infant with the mission to destroy it, but a head injury caused him to lose his memory and develop a kind and compassionate nature.
